Pumpkin Pasta Sauce

  • 1 cup pumpkin purée
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1⁄4 cup chopped fresh sage


  • Place the pumpkin and the broth in a saucepan and simmer over medium heat until slightly thickened.
  • Add the cream and the nutmeg. Blend and simmer without allowing the sauce to boil until reduced by a third, about 10 minutes.
  • Stir in the fresh sage. Serve over hot cooked pasta with fresh ground pepper.
