No need to open the oven door or grill and let all the heat escape, the Taylor programmable thermometer allows you to see the temperatures of your food from outside the oven door or grill hood. Simple and easy to program C press the buttons to the desired temperature target, insert the stainless steel probe into the food and you are set! Place the base next to the oven or grill to see the progress of the cooking C the display will show the actual/current temperature and the target temperature. Food may cook faster as the oven door or grill hood isn't opened to let hot air escape! The braided stainless steel cord is heat resistant but do not expose to direct flame. For best results, insert the food safe, stainless steel probe at least 1-2 into the food being cooked, making sure not to be in contact with bones or fat as that can affect the true temperature
