Health Screenings

To better serve your overall needs, our pharmacists provide health screenings. Health screenings help to identify health risks and problems that can ultimately lead to chronic disease states. Our healthcare providers will recommend healthcare interventions to address abnormal health screening results and thus assist in the prevention or delay the onset of certain chronic illness. These services are provided by a specialty-trained pharmacist and are carefully designed to meet your needs.

    What is a Biometric Screening?

    Knowing your risk of disease is the first step in taking action to stay healthy.

    What to expect?

    When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health.

    Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

    Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

    Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes.
