Camie's Pecan Chocolate Pie

Surprise your guests with my mother's spin on rich pecan pie. Chocolate chips and a hint of bourbon really make it festive!


  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 4 large eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons Kentucky Bourbon, plus 1 teaspoon
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 pie crust, 9", unbaked
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon superfine sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 350. Combine sugar, corn syrup, eggs, butter, vanilla, flour and 2 tablespoons bourbon. Mix together until well blended. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips. Place pie dough into pie plate, fluting the edges, and pour mixture in top.
  2. Bake at 350°F for 45-50 minutes. Center of pie will still be a little wiggly. Cool completely.
  3. Meanwhile, whip together the cream, superfine sugar and 1 teaspoon bourbon. Serve pie topped with whipped cream.
