LawnmowerEarly Spring is the time for Lawnmower Care

From spark plugs to replacement blades, you'll find what you need at your Fred Meyer Garden Center to keep your mower running its best.

Spark Plug

A dirty and fouled spark plug reduces the horsepower output of your engine. By replacing a fouled spark plug, you allow the engine to run at it's peak horsepower. Early in the season when the grass in your lawn is thick and typically wet, you'll appreciate this extra horsepower.

Air Filter

Air passing through the air filter is how your mower's engine breathes. Once a season, remove and either replace or clean the air filter on your engine so it won't have to work so hard to breathe.

Oil

Oil is the lifeblood of an engine. Changing the oil in your engine on a regular schedule keeps your engine running clean and cool. Just like an automobile engine, changing your oil gives your engine a chance to operate at its best over a long period of time.

Gasoline

Gasoline has a shelf life. Gasoline you purchased last Fall that has been sitting idle in the garage has degraded to the point where your mower's engine nay run rough or not start at all. Always use fresh gasoline, and if you have to store it over a long period of time, add a gasoline stabilizer to keep gasoline from degrading.

Lawn Mower Blade

A dull blade makes the job of cutting your grass harder than it needs to be. Sharpening or replacing your blade on an annual basis makes for a clean and efficient cut plus makes it easier for your mower to throw the grass into its bag.
