DaffodilsMissing those spring-flowering bulbs?

Flashback to last fall: did you fail to plant spring-flowering bulbs? Are you missing the color and cheer of tulips, daffodils, and their kin right now? No problem. here's a cure for your bulb-less blues.

Visit your Fred Meyer Garden Center and see what's in flower.
At Fred Meyer, you'll find planters of tulips, daffodils and more bulb favorites already in full bloom. Just pick up a few and take them home to brighten things up. They're great on your porch or patio, as well as a wonderful decoration for your dinner table and other living areas.

Or here's a less expensive way to go. Pick up tray packs of sprouted tulips, daffodils and hyacinths. You can plant 'em in your yard, deck pots, and inside pots (a few indoors is a great idea if you have kids... they love watching these plants grow and bloom).

Now remember, the cooler you keep the bulb plants you have indoors, the longer the blooms will last. So take on this minor inconvenience: put the pot outside every night. You'll be rewarded with blooms lasting 3-4 times longer than if you don't.

Never fear. Your fall procrastination can turn into spring rejoicing with a few potted bulb plants from your Fred Meyer Garden Center. Enjoy...

While much of the information in these tips is applicable in several gardening zones/climates, some of the plants and timing suggested are best suited to the Northwest, generally in the mild/wet growing regions found along the I-5 corridor. You should make appropriate adjustments or consult local gardening experts in regions whose climates differ from this area of the Northwest.
